I quit golf over Iraq war: Bush
US President George W Bush has revealed that he quit playing golf in 2003 out of respect for the families of US soldiers killed in the conflict in Iraq, now in its sixth year.
“I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal,” he said in an interview for Yahoo and Politico magazine.
“I don’t want some mum whose son may have recently died to see the commander-in-chief playing golf. I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them.”
What a load of crock! The rehumanising of a war mongering idiot continues. Quick lets rebuild my personality before I leave office for starting a war based on BS and following my fathers legacy. Even Dick managed to keep shooting whilst a war was on, but old George stops golf. Please try another one. I think it had more to do with his lack of ability at playing golf than any respect for the young americans he sent to die.
So the question should be, what should he have given up.
Sex? (but then he might get his eyesight back)
Coffee? (but then he needs all the help he can get)
Christmas? (but who would want to give him presents anyway)
Bourbon? (could he ever admit that to Christian Americans?)

He should go to the front line and fight his own stupid war - he can take his golf clubs with him… I can see it now - President Bush standing in the desert with his caddy, hitting golf ball grenades at the enemy combatants and yelling “four” in his completely annoying American drawl accent!
He should also give up talking in public… The world would be a safer place!
